My name is Brooke Bunjes and I am from Rockford, IL. I am currently a senior on the Women’s Golf team at UD. Being involved in golf has helped me build relationships, meet new people, and learn a lot about myself as well. It has also helped me understand how important physical and mental health is to not only perform on the golf course, but also in the classroom. One thing that I like to do when I may be feeling overwhelmed is take some time to myself. I try to take at least an hour to do something that I enjoy such as painting, listening to music, or spending time with my friends. Another thing I do to ensure I stabilize my mental health is to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night as well as maintaining a healthy diet. I have seen myself improve by making sure I do these things and it helps me be the best version of myself that I can. When we establish good mental health, it allows us to be available to others when they may need help. The thing that helps me the most when I’m down is my friends and family; and I want to be there for them like they are for me when needed.
