DEVIN MOORE

By October 25, 2023No Comments

My name is Devin Moore, more commonly I go by the name “Groove”. I am originally from San Antonio, Texas where I graduated from Earl Warren High School on the north side of the city. I am in my first semester here at UD as a transfer junior from a university in New Mexico majoring in sociology. Here at UD, I am a running back and kick returner on the Spartans football team where I wear jersey #2.

Since I’ve been in college, like many other student athletes, I’ve been faced with many obstacles that may pose a challenge to maintain a positive progression in everyday life. Instances of things such as depression and anxiety are a couple that I personally have had battles with at times during the course of my collegiate career which came with my transition of transferring to different institutions. Although there are a number of ways to attempt to treat or cope with these challenges across the spectrum there has been one established constant to drive me through any trials and tribulations. That constant has been my emphasis on maintaining good physical health throughout it all. Specifically, the activity is when I’m on the field, being between the white lines with 100 yards of green around me has always given me a sense of freedom both mentally and physically allowing me to flush all negativity and hardship out of my energy. Through my highs and lows being able to run, jump, and ultimately be physically active uplifts my spirits like no other. I thank God each day about for the ability to have my physical activities get me through the numerous struggles and challenges that may arise in my life in today’s society.
