My name is Sheik-Nuur Haji (Noor) I was born in Kakuma, Kenya but currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I graduated from West High School in 2020. I am currently a transfer Junior at the University of Dubuque with my major being Sociology. I am the 3rd born out of 11 children. Coming from a big family there are a lot of positives but also some obstacles that you go through. Mental health is something I’ve seen a lot of in whether it’s in positive or negative ways, so I know how important it is in everyday life. I’ve always been told that life is 90% mental and 10% physical. I 100% agree with this, moving from Utah to Iowa wasn’t an easy process, but I know that at the end of it, I’ll be playing the sport I love that provides nothing but happiness for me. Football has taught me a ton of leadership skills and showed me I can really rely on it, it’s definitely an escape from reality and into a state of Nirvana.
