My Name is Shea Reisel, I am from Somonauk, Illinois and I am a Junior at the University of Dubuque. My major is Mass Communication with minors in Sports Marketing and Business. I am a member of NSLS (National Society of Leadership and Success). I am proud to be a student athlete at the University whilst representing University of Dubuque’s women’s wrestling team. I have been wrestling for over a decade and I owe who I am as an individual to the sport of wrestling, which has gifted me with the values I hold close to my heart and mind today. This being said, I take great pride in my mental and physical health. Being able to take care of both my mind and body has guided my success on and off the mat. I believe it is my purpose to share the lessons I have acquired with individuals that I encounter. Being able to appropriately navigate your mental and physical health is imperative for the wellbeing of every individual’s success. Mental and physical health is not just taking care of your own mind and body but also others’. It is caring about others and being someone that others are proud to know. It is speaking up for those that cannot do the same for themselves and doing the right thing when no one is watching. It is growing, developing, learning, failing, and succeeding. I believe that taking care of your mental and physical may not always be easy but that is why speaking, learning, listening, and adapting is so imperative to the growth of conversations regarding physical and mental health.
