VIC PICO

My name is Vic Pico and I am from Los Angeles, California. I am a junior at the University of Dubuque and transferred from Los Angeles Valley College. I am a baseball player and business major. My physical and mental health are two things that I feel go hand and hand as an athlete. As someone who has struggled with mental health in the past, baseball has really allowed me an escape and something that can help me forget any challenges going on. It has allowed me to create many friendships that will last a lifetime and create a sense of family with my teammates. Being an athlete comes with many responsibilities and long days. However, sports serve as a positive outlet that can really help manage the busy schedule and stress that comes in my life. Along with my mental health, my physical health plays a big role in my everyday life. With many practices and training sessions, it is important to keep my body running at the highest level. Whether it is through the gym or utilizing the trainers, I strive to better myself every day and put myself in the best position to help my team.

By ensuring good physical health it will allow you to perform when the game calls upon you. Baseball has allowed me many opportunities and countless friendships that I will never forget. I thank God for the opportunities and friendships baseball has brought me and remain committed to growing both on and off the field. I encourage everyone to find a passion that challenges you and leads you to the friends and family that you never knew you needed; and forces you to put your mental and physical health at the forefront
