My name is Drew Hoffer and I am a freshman on the women’s golf team at the University of Dubuque. I am from Oregon, Wisconsin and graduated from Oregon High School in 2024. I grew up playing golf and doing gymnastics. I did gymnastics from age 5-18 and I started playing golf at age 6 and knew that golf was my favorite sport when I entered the 8th grade. Being involved in sports has impacted my physical health and more importantly my mental health. A few ways I keep myself level minded when I’m stressed are painting, talking with my friends, and working. These aspects of my life keep me in a good mindset and perform at my best on the golf course and in the classroom. My family is another big part of helping me through stressful situations and I’m very glad they taught me different ways to help during those times. I encourage everyone to find outlets and resources to help you through the stressful times and to develop the mindset to perform your best and find your passion.
