My name is Parker Hahne. Currently, I am a Senior at the University of Dubuque, studying flight operations and playing lacrosse. I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I played lacrosse at the closest high school that had a team, that being Pine Creek High School. I started playing lacrosse in 5th grade and since then I have used lacrosse as an escape from reality. A safe place to compete, to better myself physically and mentally. My father believed that staying physically active does play a vital role in quality of life. His ideology was similar to the Socrates quote “It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable of”. I utilized lacrosse to stay in shape physically, but the teammates and friends I have made through lacrosse have helped my mental state more than any other aspect in my life. Competing in lacrosse provides me a safe place to mentally reset. I found once I enter the field, nothing outside the field matters. I can forget about my problems and stressors for a few hours and just compete.
