I’m from St. Louis Missouri, where I attended St. Mary’s Southside Catholic High School. While there I participated in basketball and lacrosse, I also played lacrosse for Lindbergh High School, and during these high school years I found a deep love for sports. This has continued to grow throughout my college experience at UD. I currently study politics and philosophy and playing lacrosse at UD has helped me take the breaks I have needed from my studies. School can be incredibly stressful, and dedicating time of my day to play lacrosse with my best friends can help mediate this stress. Lacrosse has helped me with my physical and mental health in many ways. First my physical health, it has been positively impacted because lacrosse has helped honor and be grateful for the gift of good health. Being pushed to better my physical health has helped me on the field and off. I have formed very strong relationships with my teammates, many of them help me if I’m ever struggling off the field. As a captain of the team, I also pride myself in being able to help my teammates on and off the field. This deep connection is like a family because you don’t get to choose your teammates, but you share love with them and fight towards a common goal.
