My name is Cambell Smith, and I am from Hampshire, Illinois, where I attended Hampshire high school. Currently I am a freshman at the University of Dubuque studying aviation to pursue a career in the airlines. I also play for the University’s lacrosse team as a midfielder. Going into college I wanted a major focus to be on my physical health, as it is something that has affected my mental health in the past. Physical health has allowed me to join the lacrosse team and play with them at their level, giving me a path to release my emotions and stress for the time I am with the team. This allows me to focus on my studies and life without letting my stress get in the way. It can also allow me to focus my mind when I am struggling or give me an outlet for when I need a break from my studies or any challenges that I may be facing. Being physically healthy has also allowed for so many positive opportunities with friends and families that have led me to be where I am today. Whether it is meeting a new friend through sports, or just being able to go on a walk or run to clear your mind and refocus. It helps me to accomplish everything that I need to be successful in my life.
