Hello, my name is Mattie Papenthien, and I am from Middleton, WI. I am currently on the women’s wrestling team at University of Dubuque and am a sophomore. As a wrestler, I have dealt with many challenges dealing with my physical and mental health. Wrestling is never an easy sport, it takes a lot of perseverance, hard work, and true dedication to keep going. However, I believe that having my teammates and peers support throughout my career has truly helped me keep pushing through any obstacles that I may have. These relationships and support are crucial for anyone struggling with their physical or mental health. I strongly believe that a person’s health is the number one thing we need to ensure they can achieve anything in their life and complete it to their fullest potential. I want to be able to support the people around me and have a positive impact on their life.
