DEREK EARL SAINT-HILAIRE

By October 30, 2025No Comments

My name is Dereck-Earl “DK” Saint-Hilaire. I’m originally from Fort Lauderdale , Florida, and I’m now a senior wide receiver at the University of Dubuque. Adjusting here wasn’t easy at first, it was nothing like home, but I’ve found joy through my teammates, new friends, and the strong support system on campus. As a result, my time here has been nothing short of amazing; I’ve met incredible people as well as had an incredible academic experience. There’s so much to learn and do here, so it tends to keep you busy in a good way. College life can be overwhelming, especially as a student-athlete, but your mental and spiritual health are just as important as academics and sports. Remember, you’re never alone! Every campus has resources, such as therapy, multiple church groups, and programs on campus and in the community to support you. While things may not look different than the palm trees that you are used to, you can still find the support that is needed. I’m grateful for my brothers, coaches, and community who lift me up through challenges. God bless. Go Spartans!
