My name is Caleb Edwards. I study Environmental Science and am currently a member of the men’s wrestling team at the University of Dubuque! I am in my first year at the University of Dubuque, as I spent the past four years studying and wrestling for Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. My passions include motorcycles and the outdoors, and my future plans are to become a Marine Corps aviator! Throughout my wrestling career, mental health has been one of my primary focuses. Many believe that a positive and confident mindset can be a powerful catalyst in your performance as an athlete, and I couldn’t agree more! With stakes as high as our aspirations, a confident and positive mindset can be a tool for success by giving you an edge over the competition. Beyond mindset, I have faced many obstacles and hurdles in my career that required me to persevere and be resilient. Sadness, anger, and frustration can be powerful emotions, and they have affected me in ways that hindered my career in wrestling and academics. Through my love for wrestling, family, and God, I have become a better version of myself who is positive, confident, and motivated to become a better person every day. I credit my success in life to my family, coaches, and God, who were always by my side. I believe that happiness is a choice that we must make every day! To do this, I encourage others to center themselves with their faith, their family, and their goals. And to rely on them when you get knocked off center!
