My name is Jaxon Anderson, I am from Mount Vernon Iowa, and I am a freshman student studying exercise science, as well as playing football at UD. The transition to college life has been a struggle, not being able to see my family every day, working hard at practice and in meetings every day, but the people make everything a little easier. Over the past few years, I have had mental health struggles but working through that with different people has installed the idea into my head that your mental health is important and should come first, and a part of that is taking care of your body. Learning to Get enough sleep, eating right and taking care of myself have all helped me with not just my physical health but mental health as well. What I’ve started to learn is that there are huge connections between physical and mental health . They aren’t completely separate and taking care of one can help with the other. By focusing on the things that can help me I can focus on making myself better both in the classroom and on the field.
