Hi, my name is Owen DiFederico, I am currently a freshman at the University of Dubuque. I am majoring in sports marketing and management; I am also on the football team where I play outside linebacker. I went to Burlington high school, and I participated in football, track, and wrestling. Since coming to UD, I’ve realized Making the transition isn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be, it’s a lot of emotions flying around. Especially from your loved ones, it’s hard leaving home, but the amazing thing about UD is the family here. I realized I wasn’t alone, and I could lean on my teammates as brothers, as a second family. That gave me a lot of reassurance as a student athlete and as a person. Being a college athlete is no joke, taking care of your body is important and is needed to be successful in athletics, are coaches, strength coaches, and athletic trainers do a great job of getting bodies ready for gameday. I am grateful to be a part of the University of Dubuque community and to be surrounded by coaches and teammates that are here with me every step of the way. I inspire everyone to take their mental and physical health seriously, And I can’t wait to see what the next four years has to offer.
